This fall, we’re proud to celebrate screenings of Cosmic Heirloom: Buried 400 Years and Salvaged Reverb: Inside Robert Lang Studios. Our journey will take us to Portland for the Oregon Short Film Festival, La Grande for the Eastern Oregon Film Festival, and then to Song of Sunset events in Bend and Seattle.

Before the festivals, awards, and expanded live productions, Song of Sunset began as a documentary journey through Central Oregon’s intimate music rooms. These behind-the-scenes photographs trace the project from its first interviews and performances to the October 2025 screening at Volcanic Theatre Pub—where a film became a live-cinema experience.

Song of Sunset was never meant to be a response to the traditional festival system. It is an opportunity to build something different.

A festival usually presents audiences with a large collection of films, performers, stages, and schedules. Song of Sunset is intentionally more focused. It brings everyone into one room and guides the audience through one carefully curated interactive journey.
