Unearthed Reverb pre-production. We are Heading to Seattle
One of the most exciting chapters of Song of Sunset: Underground is about to begin.
On June 18, our production team will travel to Seattle to begin filming Unearthed Reverb, a new short documentary exploring the history, mythology, and creative legacy of the legendary Robert Lang Studios.
Hidden beneath the trees north of Seattle, Robert Lang Studios has welcomed some of the most influential artists of the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Over the years, musicians including Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Soundgarden, Death Cab for Cutie, Peter Frampton, and many others have passed through its doors.
During our visit, we'll be capturing extensive interviews and visual storytelling elements that explore how an ordinary place becomes a cultural landmark.
What We'll Be Filming
An in-depth interview with studio founder Robert Lang
The story behind the studio's construction and evolution
The legendary drum room that helped define the studio's sound
Historic memorabilia and artifacts from decades of recording history
The mysterious "Light of the World" stone and the stories surrounding it
Architectural details and spaces rarely seen by the public
Atmospheric footage throughout the property
Our goal is to gather the foundational material needed to bring this story to life while preserving an important piece of Pacific Northwest music culture.
Looking Ahead
Beginning August 31, Song of Sunset will launch an eight-week regional marketing campaign across Seattle, Portland, Salem, Eugene, and Bend leading up to Song of Sunset: Underground on October 24.
The campaign will feature:
Five new short-form videos every week
Behind-the-scenes production updates
Artist spotlights
Historic Pacific Northwest music stories
Travel and lodging opportunities for visitors coming to Bend
Documentary previews from both Unearthed Reverb and Cosmic Heirloom: Buried 400 Years
Our mission remains simple: bring people together through music, film, and storytelling while preserving the creative history of the Pacific Northwest for future generations.
We'll be sharing updates from Seattle throughout the production process. Thank you for following along on the journey.
