Festival Buzz & What’s Next

As we get closer to the October 8 premiere of Song of Sunset at Volcanic Theater Pub in Bend, Oregon, I wanted to share a few exciting developments that are moving the project forward in a big way.

First, some local love: The Source Weekly has reached out to do a feature on the premiere and our post-screening songwriter circle. The article will run in September and should really help boost awareness.

In other good news, Song of Sunset is now under review at film festivals across the Pacific Northwest—and even a few internationally. We're hopeful for some official selections to be announced in August. Festival recognition will not only help validate the film’s message but will also strengthen its chances for licensing on streaming platforms in the near future.

Speaking of licensing—my earlier film, Longevity Beta Tester, just reached a major milestone. It was picked up by a ROKU channel with over 15 million subscribers. That’s a huge leap from where that journey began, and I’m hopeful it signals good things ahead for Song of Sunset as well.

Lastly, I’ve been actively applying for film grants to help support the next stages of this project. Funding would allow us to expand our vision with a full crew, higher production value, and the type of gear used on Netflix and HBO documentaries. I’ll find out more on those grant decisions in September—but rest assured, the project will continue regardless.

Thank you to everyone who’s supported this journey so far. Whether you're a cast member, musician, venue owner, or simply someone who loves local stories and live music, your encouragement keeps this series moving.

More soon—and hope to see you October 8.
