A one-night cinematic and live music gathering in Bend connecting visitors and locals through independent film, analog culture, and Pacific Northwest storytelling.

Created by Brian Craig Hinderberger that celebrates independent artists, live music, and community storytelling across Oregon. Through film, live performances, and collaborative events, the project highlights intimate music venues while supporting musicians through artist-centered storytelling and creative partnerships.

This activity is supported in part by a grant from the Bend Cultural Tourism Fund.

  • UNDERGROUND is designed as a regional cultural tourism event that fosters gatherings that strengthens community through storytelling, music, and shared creative experiences.

    As part of the event’s programming and outreach efforts, Song of Sunset will actively seek opportunities to collaborate with Native American and Hispanic artists and musicians while creating space for community-centered conversations through film, music, and live experiences.

    In support of youth mental health and creative community building in Bend, 5% of event proceeds will be donated to HÚE: Hearts Unknown, a Bend-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

    HÚE is a space where kids can find peace in community and creativity, grow their confidence, and connect with additional mental health resources throughout Central Oregon.

    Song of Sunset: UNDERGROUND is committed to building an inclusive cultural experience that highlights diverse voices, regional storytelling, and meaningful community connection throughout the Pacific Northwest.
