Breedlove Guitars Joins the Journey of Song of Sunset
I’m incredibly excited to share some thrilling news from the set of Song of Sunset: the film has received generous promotional support from none other than Breedlove Guitars — a true gem of Bend, Oregon. I will be using an incredible Bend Oregon Made instrument throughout the film to add spirit and beauty to the film.
As a musician and filmmaker, I’ve always been drawn to the soul of an acoustic instrument — the kind that doesn’t just make sound, but tells a story. That’s why this partnership is so meaningful. Breedlove has provided me with one of their finest instruments to use throughout filming: the Oregon Concert CE Myrtlewood.
Let me tell you — this guitar is nothing short of inspiring.
Handcrafted right here in Bend, Oregon, the Oregon Concert CE is built from sustainably sourced myrtlewood, a tonewood native to the Pacific Northwest. Known for its versatility, this acoustic-electric delivers a sound that’s bold, clean, and remarkably balanced — with rich bass, articulate mids, and sweet, shimmering highs. It’s no wonder it’s become a favorite among players around the world.
This isn’t just a beautiful guitar — it’s a reflection of values I deeply admire: craftsmanship, sustainability, and reverence for place. Breedlove makes a point to disclose every piece of solid wood used in the model, listing its common and scientific names and its country of origin. More importantly, they use no clear-cut wood. Every tree is individually harvested or salvaged from fallen timber, with deep care for our forests and future.
That spirit — intentional, grounded, and full of character — resonates perfectly with the vision behind Song of Sunset. This film is about more than just music; it’s about community, connection, and the small spaces that keep music alive.
